Suff's Furniture was established in 1961 by Albert "Suff" Suffoletta. Suff started his business by selling carpet off of samples out of his home. He then opened a one-room shop on Broadway and continued to add to his product mix, expanding from carpet to sofas, bedroom furniture, mattresses and more.

Discount prices and excellent customer service led to Suff's Furnitures renown through the central Kentucky area. As the business grew, so did the need for new, larger facilities. In 1974, Suff bought an old A & P grocery store on Main Street in Georgetown. The new location provided a wider selection of furniture at competitive prices.

Albert's son, Richard, graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1975 and introduced oriental rugs to the business. In 1978 the store expanded, largely due to the burgeoning oriental rug department. As the rug department grew, Richard continued to innovate, introducing leather furniture in the early 1980's. The great demand for leather in central Kentucky sparked Suff's thriving expansion in the fine furniture and oriental rug market.

Consumers living over 100 miles away began coming to Suff's Fine Furniture and Oriental Rugs for fine leather and oriental rugs, and to experience the home town customer service. Suff's continually won manufacturer awards for outstanding business and customer care. As a result, in the late 1980's the Suffolettas remodeled the Georgetown store, expanding the showroom to over 10.000 square feet.

As the store's success grew, so did the Suffoletta expertise. In 2005 the third generation of the Suffoletta family, Rick, joined the furniture business upon graduating from the University of Kentucky. Bursting at the seams between merchandise and customers, the Suffolettas decided to remodel the Georgetown location and expand the business by adding a second location on Nicholasville Road between Lexington and Nicholasville.

The newest location features Suff's same acclaimed quality and customer service, with a larger display of merchandise in an airy 15,000 square foot showroom. Styles from traditional to transitional can be found at a variety of price points for oriental rugs, furniture, and accessories in the Nicholasville location.

Due to the settling of the estate of Suff's founder and father, Albert "Suff" Suffoletta, Suff's Georgetown location closed in July 2016 and consolidated with the Nicholasville Road showroom. Suff's continues to serve all customers with unchanged excellence, and has developed a team that excels in serving and assisting you in finding the piece or designing the room that best fits you!
